Longtime Harrison County Courthouse employee Nate Critchfield was presented with a plaque Wednesday.
CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WV News) — Officials bid farewell to a longtime employee of the Harrison County Courthouse after the commission meeting on Wednesday.
Commissioners presented a proclamation to Nate Critchfield, as Thursday marks the start of his final week as an employee of the county.
Critchfield was brought forward while Commission President Susan Thomas read the proclamation to those in attendance.
“Nate Critchfield has joyfully helped to keep the beautiful Harrison County Courthouse plaza clean for eight years and has greeted and talked with Harrison County residents and believes everyone is his friend and a potential audience. We’re going to miss him,” Thomas said.
Wednesday, April 24, 2024, was named as Charles Nathaniel “Nate” Critchfield Day in the proclamation.
Following the meeting, cake was served on the courthouse plaza, where Critchfield has spent his working hours for the better part of the last decade.
His parting from the Harrison County Courthouse is due to his move to Morgantown.
Although he hasn’t secured another job yet, Critchfield is hopeful he will enjoy his next endeavor as much as his job at the courthouse.
“I liked saying ‘hi’ to everybody,” Critchfield said.
